Hi. My name is Alex Larkins, creator of Alex Larkins Personal Training.
I have always been a keen sportsman, playing all sorts of sports for my school. As I got older I had a big growth spurt and became one of the tallest, yet skinniest people in my year. When this happened I started to feel insecure as I was often being picked on for being so skinny. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t put on weight as I didn’t have the right knowledge to help me.
Developing through adolescence I decided to become a personal trainer so I could attain the knowledge that would not only help my own progression but others as well.
With all the knowledge I gained through my qualifications I managed to finally achieve what I had always wanted. A body I could feel proud of. I went from being a skinny tall 10 stone guy to a tall 13 stone guy. My muscle growth and definition are now ideal for me. My cardiovascular (heart, lungs) are the healthiest they have ever been and it is all because I had the knowledge to change my life.
Having gone through many life changing moments my main aim is to help as many people reach their desired goals. I know how great it feels to see a difference and with my knowledge and experience I want to make you all feel the same way; giving you confidence and self belief as well as all the other healthy benefits.
I have attained several qualifications. For instance I am currently teaching Spin, Box, Pump, Circuit, and Kettlebell classes. I have also acquired a Level 3 in Exercise Referral, which helps members of the public who have been referred from their doctors to exercise. Some of these conditions include, Obesity, Osteoporosis, Arthritis, COPD, Diabetes type 1 & 2.
So here is where I can help you. Apart from the vast knowledge I can provide, you will always feel supported and motivated. Every goal that is set will be achieved if you put in as much effort as I will for you. I am very flexible with my working hours so will accommodate those who struggle with time due to working hours etc. Your programmes will always be tailored to your ability and that can mean different durations of the session.
As well as the fitness side I will help you with your diet. 70% of how your body changes comes from the food and drink you consume. I will help you with your food diary and advise changes, as well as help you to understand how calories and macronutrients (Protein, Carbohydrates & fat) affect your body, not only in everyday life, but how they also relate to fitness. You will soon realise that fad diets are not the way forward, a balanced diet will always be more beneficial.
The main aspect is that I am here for you, not only for your fitness, but as your friend. The bond that a trainer and client makes is what makes the difference.
